Adam Chase has been a Director of sustainable energy consulting firm E4tech since 2000 and he leads their work on strategy and policy. He has degrees in Economics, Engineering, Energy & Environmental Technology. Adam plays a role in nearly all of the consulting projects which E4tech undertakes through its London office, working with companies, government and investors.
He was previously a manager with the global management consulting firm A.T.Kearney, where he took part in and led teams engaged in a wide range of strategic and operational projects across the international energy and chemicals sectors. Prior to this Adam worked for seven years in the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry and also spent time as a journalist with Financial Times Automotive, focusing on energy, environment and automotive issues.
page topBassam Fattouh focuses his research on aspects of the international oil pricing system such as the relationship between the futures market and spot market, the relationship between OPEC and the market, the causes of oil price volatility and the dynamics of oil price differentials. He also focuses his research on the IOC-NOC relationship and its implications for investment behaviour. He has a strong background in the economic environment of the Middle East.

His contributions to customised research include project managing and senior consultant roles in over 50 strategic consulting assignments for vehicle manufacturers as well as major Tier 1 suppliers. The nature of projects he has managed includes business opportunity evaluation, partnership/acquisition analysis, commercial due diligence, concept testing for new product launches, voice of customer studies, and supplier benchmarking, covering both the automotive OE and aftermarket.
Some of the diverse projects he has worked on include identifying strategic opportunities for suppliers in the automotive seat electronics market, analysis vehicle manufacturers’ comfort strategies, analysis of the R&D strategies of OEMs, analysis of the OE and aftermarket for various in-car infotainment system. He has also conducted strategy workshops and presented findings to top automotive OEMs and Suppliers. He is a regular speaker at international automotive conferences and is often quoted on reputed automotive and business publications.
page topMalcolm is a chemical engineer by training, having graduated from Edinburgh University with a B.Sc (honours). He has worked in the downstream oil industry for 40 years, 27 of them with BP, in a variety of roles from being a chemical engineer in refinery processing, technical development, energy studies, synfuels pilot plant development and latterly section head of planning and analysis at BP’s Research Centre in Sunbury.
He has particular expertise in alternative fuels and technologies. Malcolm joined UKPIA in 1993 and as Technical Director specialises in developing and co-ordinating the Association’s response on all product and air quality issues. Malcolm has co-authored a number of UKPIA’s publications including “Future Road Fuels”, “Delivering a low carbon economy” and “Meeting our energy needs: the future of UK oil refining”.
He chairs the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership’s Fuels Working Group.
